NATURE OF DEFECT
An LP steam line had a leaking gland. The customer was unable to isolate the line and required Metalyte Pipeworks to provide an online leak sealing solution.
SOLUTION
A survey was conducted with an engineering and safety assessment and the solution proposed was to utilise one of the Metalyte Pipeworks “off the shelf” pre-engineered injection clamps. This enabled Metalyte skilled technicians to safely repack the gland using bespoke valve packing compounds. This resulted in a permanent repair and allowed the continued operation of the valve.
