Nature of Defect
The 900mm reducer on the salt water discharge line is suffering from severe internal erosion and internal lining failure. This has resulted in a through wall defect at the 5 o’clock location with the possibility of further through wall leaks occurring.
Solution
Metalyte Pipeworks applied their bespoke Titan 505 leak seal system with an engineered overwrap using a two part wet up system.
Repair Method
The full repair area was power tool prepped to SSP.SP11 to remove all corrosion and contaminants, and to gain the surface profile required for the composite to adhere to.
The Titan 505 composite leak seal system was then applied to seal the leaks. The 2 part field applied composite system was then applied over the full repair area and allowed to cure. The repair was then coated in 2 layers of UV protective coating.
