NATURE OF DEFECT
A flange joint connection on a 6” steam line had failed due to possible gasket or flange face issues. The client required a live leak arrest system to be applied due to operational down time.
SOLUTION
Metalyte Pipeworks solution was to apply a fully engineered clamp enclosure to encompass the flange outside diameter.
REPAIR METHOD
The flange and pipe area had the insulating material removed. An engineering survey & measure up was carried out for the clamp to be manufactured. The clamp was installed live with sealant injected into both the perimeter and injectable flange stud fixings.
