The 6” Gas Condensate line was found to be suffering from internal and external corrosion.
The Problem
The 6” Gas Condensate line was found to be suffering from internal and external corrosion from the 6 o’clock position round to the 9 o’clock position. The Remaining Wall Thickness over this area is noted to be 4.97mm.
The Solution
The platform removed the support to allow Metalyte Pipeworks to carry out the required surface preparation. Any external pits and defects were filled and profiled using a load transfer compound. This was then wrapped in Metalyte Pipeworks Dragon composite allowing the customer to put the line back in to service.
